Training & Communications Specialist

Seth Johnson leads communications and training at Rogue Water Lab, where he helps utilities, infrastructure organizations, and industry partners strengthen stakeholder engagement, elevate their messaging, and build trust with the communities they serve. With more than a decade of experience in strategic communications, marketing, public relations, and adult learning, Seth has developed and led communication strategies, training programs, and outreach initiatives for organizations including the Rural Community Assistance Partnership (RCAP), NTCA–The Rural Broadband Association, and Tetra Tech.

Throughout his career, Seth has specialized in translating complex technical topics into clear, compelling communications that connect with diverse audiences. His experience spans executive communications, digital marketing, media relations, public outreach, internal communications, event strategy, and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on helping mission-driven organizations strengthen relationships with customers, employees, elected officials, and the communities they serve.

At Rogue Water Lab, Seth oversees the yearlong cohort-based Convergence program, which gives communicators in utilities, state agencies, nonprofits, and water-adjacent companies a structured yet practical environment to learn together. He is passionate about helping organizations communicate with authenticity, transparency, and purpose to create lasting impact.

Seth earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from American University in Washington, D.C., where he developed a strong foundation in public policy, communications, and organizational leadership. He brings a collaborative, practical approach to every engagement and is dedicated to helping utility leaders communicate more effectively in an increasingly complex environment.
